Best of winter greetings too you our vintage snowmobile friend,

It’s been a while since our last letter and we trust this finds you enjoying some great winter experiences with your friends, family, and vintage sleds! With the new year upon us,
we would like to take a moment from the onset and reflect back on an exceptional 2009 which brought a variety of exciting vintage snowmobile gatherings throughout the West
as then deliver all the news!

As the summer of 2009 began to heat up, our WSVSA membership clubs were busy taking advantage of the always fun in the sun events!

One of the first and featured Western Vintage get togethers of last summer was the Open House and “Racers Reunion” held at the Northwest Museum of Vintage Snowmobiles.
Located in Spokane, Owner and Curator, Jerry Kienbaum along with longtime racer Roger Biddiscombe assembled what many regarded as a once in lifetime gathering of
Western Vintage Racing Celebrities and their sleds. A field of about 60 unique, one of a kind sleds basked in the sunshine on a steamy July day on the grounds of the museum.

Participants in this year’s open house came from as far away as Minnesota, Illinois, Western Canada as well as all the Western States showing racing sleds that rarely if ever
been seen since their days on the track racing icons such as Myrl Schroeder, Duane Eck, Jeff Biddiscombe, Len Champiox, Tom Feil, Arlin Windman and Harvey Waldron,
joined countless others in celebrating snowmobiling's rich racing in the West

The feature experience of the weekend was the gathering of 13 different brands of racers in the “Circle of Champions” photo illustrated above. Each sled had its respective
rider and/or owner in attendance.  As the days Emcee, “Leisure” Lee Frederickson introduced each sled and owner, they told a little story of the history of the sled and its success.
Everyone in attendance was gathered around closely too hear these very personal and mesmerizing tales from the past!!!

Copies of the “Circle of Champions” photo are available for purchase at www.snoprousa.com as well as the museum s web site at www.nwmovs.com

The Northwest’s Museums Open House was truly interpreted as a huge success and plans are in the works for another open house for this coming summer.
This year’s event will be open to one and all who would like to share in participation of the true emerging treasures of western vintage snowmobile history.
Watch for more on this year’s summer open house in our WSVSA Summer Letter due out in late June.

For more information on the museum and to arrange your personal tour of the facility, please feel free to call Jerry at 509-220-7091.
This is a must see on your western vintage too doo list!

As we moved into August several events popped up in the heat of summer.

Early on the Pacific Northwest Vintage Snowmobile Club hosted the first annual Bob Rhea Classic in Moxee Washington, as you probably know; we lost Bob early last year
and with this gathering, celebrated his fantastic life with his lovely wife Norma, and their incredible family. There were about 40 great sleds on display with Norma winning Best of Show
with their 71 panther. Troy Bergsrtesser ended winning people’s choice with his spectacular 70 Sno Jet. For more on Moxee check out www.pnwvsc.com and put this one on
your calendar for a sizzling time next year!

At about the same time as “The Moxx” an enthusiastic couple from our Western Vintage group made the long pull back to Minnesota for the famous Princeton show.
Jerry and Pat Eve from Forsythe, Montana regularly attend Princeton as well as numerous events in the Midwest which include many dear friends from the region.
This year they had their fabulous tandem set-up of the 68 Polaris Super Voyager and Cutter which always draws a crowd. They proudly flew our WSVSA Flag as they posed
for this photo with the hardware they won at this years Princeton show! Thanks Kids!! Keep having fun on the road!

VSCU Vintage Snowmobile Club of Utah

The 2009 SnoWest Vintage Snowmobile Show held during the Intermountain Snowmobile Show in South Jordan, Utah during October 2009 was a great success.
Twelve participants from three western states brought a total of 37 antique and vintage snowmobiles to display.  This show has become the backbone of the Utah Vintage
movement and will be an integral part of the future of vintage in Utah.

The Vintage Snowmobile Club of Utah (VSCU) will be taking the next step in development by creating a formal club soon.  It will be creating a logo, print banners, decals,
associate itself with the Western States Vintage Snowmobile Association (WSVSA) and the Utah Snowmobile Association to increase its exposure and broaden its membership
 in
Utah and surrounding states.  The club's first winter activity will be to participate in the national "Live on Skis" event to be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Monte Cristo
trailhead located 15 miles east of Huntsville, Utah on state road 39.  What is "Live on Skis"?  It is a day of riding old sleds and hanging out with some of the finest people on earth!
Rides, games, grudge match drag races, shenanigans and nothing but FUN!  Events this year are also planned in
Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and Ontario Canada.
The Utah event is anticipated to consist of a bonfire, a cook out (bring your own stuff), a display near the top of the parking lot area and a ride.  Current state law requires all
snowmobiles to be registered to ride on public land.  Curtis Tate will be working with the
Utah off Highway Vehicle department to see if an exemption can be obtained for display sleds.
Contact Curtis Tate (801-510-2662) for more information or to share your ideas with him regarding this event, club mission statement, purpose and formation.
Further, please contact Curtis if you are interested in membership in the VSCU or to get on the club's e-mailing list.

VSOI  Vintage Snowmobiles of Idaho

Vintage Snowmobiles of Idaho had another great 2009 and is looking forward to serving the Vintage Snowmobile Community in 2010.
Here’s a quick overview of a very busy summer - 2009:

May brought the club to Annual I-Farm gathering in Twin Falls, Idaho were we displayed about 20 sleds at a very unique gathering of farm and ranching history.
VSI held its spring meeting at I-farm and elected a new Vice President to replace our friend Dan Hammerbeck who has moved out of the area. Gary Cvecich accepted his
position as our VP and with his exposure to ISSA as a region 6 director can help us stay on the forefront of events and opportunities which will allow us to support the industry in
Idaho.

In September VSI held its 6th Annual Stanley Fall Vintage Show and Expo. We moved the date up one week this year to try and beat the weather card which has plagued us for the
past few years. And this year, it paid off. A picture perfect alpine day greeted about a dozen collectors from 4 western states as they displayed about 30 sleds on a day which made this
year’s expo easily the best ever.  Our John Deere Raffle sled raised a record amount this year and netted about $800 after all was said and done. Ray Bergsrtesser from
Spokane
won the sled and it was his third raffle sled win in two years! Congratulations Ray!!

VSI also held its fall meeting at Stanley and again decided to donate $1,000 to ISSA Grooming programs across the state.  At the recent ISSA Convention in Boise,
our Vice President, Gary Cvecich, presented The Coeur D' Alene Snowmobile Club, Cougar Mountain Snowmobile Club, Garden Valley Sno-Goers, and Montpelier Bear Lake
Rim Riders each with a $250 donation to help with their respective grooming programs. And as a bonus, VSI is also anticipating making some small donations to several local food
banks to help out in the trying times.

February will be bringing the second annual Clover Creek Inn Vintage Show in Montpelier, Idaho. Held in conjunction with the National “Live on Skis” program on February 12th & 13th
The Clover Creek Show is a great time and a must attend. The success of this event is direct reflection of Tamara and Dave Fisher’s incredible enthusiasm which has added a new
inspiration too our club from the regions of Southeastern Idaho. For more information and reservation please call The Clover Creek at 208-847-0310.

For all the up too date news on VSI you can also log onto www.idahosnow.org and find us in the region 6 club roster. Or feel free to call Perry @ 208-3091750.

VSOTINW Vintage Snowmobiles of the Inland Northwest

The summer of 2009 found the members of VSOINW holding several shows and meetings which were very successful. One of the most popular events of the summer
was our annual club gathering at Paul Bunyan days in St Maries,
Idaho on Labor Day weekend.  A host of members entertained a crowd estimated at 12,000 at one the areas
most popular events. Jerry Kienbaum won peoples choice with his Polaris Sno-Traveler.

In November VSOINW put together our annual gathering at the Spokane Winterkights show and this year was one of the best we’ve ever held. Tory and Diane Bergsrtesser along
with Steven Burdick staged an incredible Ski Doo Display which reflected the 50 years of Ski Doo. They had Stevens 63 “Tin Cab” along with a 2010 Ski Doo and tons of
memorabilia to set an impressive stage for an appreciative crowd. Greg Byrd won the peoples choice award with hid Polaris Sno-Traveler and Dave Brummer won best of show
with his 71 Chaparral Thunderbird.

This year’s Winterkights show was also the last stop for the 2009 WSVSA Raffle sled. We had a great time selling tickets throughout the day and with a great deal of
excitement Emily Ruchert drew one of the lucky winner. And James Simpson from
Renton, Washington walked off with the super cool little1980 Trail Cat.  We received our share of
the proceeds from the raffle ($300) and donated them to the Union Gospel Mission and Salvation Army in Spokane.

In meetings held over the summer, officers remained as in the previous years with Dave Brummer President, Roger Biddiscombe VP, and Gladys Varner Sec/Tres.
Roger Biddiscombe was selected as the clubs sitting WSVSA representative.  Officer Elections are up for vote in April at our spring meeting TBD. For more information log
onto www.wsvsa.com and click on our logo. You can also feel free to contact Dave Brummer at 208-755-8334 for any questions you may have.

Our next event is scheduled for February 20. We’ll have a 30 mile trail ride into Cascade Lodge with spaghetti Lunch provided. Contact Dave at 208-755-8334 for more

PNWVSC Pacific Northwest Vintage Snowmobile Club

Under the leadership of new President Kevin Hancock, the PNWVSC has used this past summer to get our club bylaws and protocol in order. We send out ballots for our
membership approval and have now finalized an approved set of updated documents which should serve our club well into the future.

In August we held the 1st Annual Bob Rhea Classic in Moxee Washington. Clubs members from across the west gathered to join Norma and the Rhea
family in an impressive tribute to our vintage friend who we lost last March. Norma Rhea won best of show with the family ’71 Arctic Cat Panther and
Troy Bergsrtesser won peoples choice with his ’70 Sno Jet.
We held a very efficient meeting at Moxee with a very good number of members attending. We discussed and
approved the final draft of our bylaws and voted to formally approve our participation in WSVSA.

November found us at our annual the Puyallup show which this year was one of our best ever. We had a very good location in the main building with a great display of sleds.
The WSVSA Raffle sled was on its second stop of four of its western tour and we sold quite a few raffle tickets to support the cause. Tory Bergsrtesser won people’s choice with
his ’70 Sno Jet and Steve Burdick won Best of Show with his sweet little ’61 Ski Doo “Tin Cab”. Good fun was had by all we would like to thank Howard Briggs,
Ed & Marlene Buckner, and Steve Burdick for the great job in producing this year’s event!

Later in November, Steven decided to resign as our Vice President to allow more time with his family. Steven served for several years as our VP and will continue to be
active in the club. We sincerely thank him for his service and wish him and his family the best. Ray Bergsrtesser has been appointed interim VP until we can have
another formal election process.

We’ll be hosting our 2nd Annual Live in Skis ride over the weekend of February 13th and 14th in Bend, Oregon. We’ll have a guide tour us on vintage sleds thru the
Paullina Area on Saturday and plan a modern sled ride on Sunday. Jim Smith is heading up this year’s get together so feel free to contact him at 541-788-5444.
Hotel reservation are suggested at the La Quinta Inn – 541-388-2227

WSVSA The Western States Vintage Snowmobile Association

The Western States Vintage Snowmobile Association is now entering into its’ third year of expanding its member club resources with the help of its many supporters.
The barometer on our program has been getting very favorable reviews however: there still seems too be some misunderstanding of what WSVSA is all about.

WSVSA is simply an entity designed to help its member clubs deliver information to snowmobile enthusiasts of all ages from coast to coast in the United Sates and Canada.
This can be thru our newsletter, on our web site, and /or by requesting access to our mailing list for club promotion on its own. These services are available free by simply
submitting a request. That’s it!

WSVSA has no intent what –so-ever of issuing a judging rules packet or administering any agenda to its member clubs. Period!!!  We are simply an informational conduit
and assisting resource which is available upon request to anyone who asks.

Our one and only event at this time is the West Yellowstone Roundup where the concept of a cohesive entity such as WSVSA was developed. From West Yellowstone’s
conception, its participants requested the development of a universal entity which could efficiently coordinate the event. Last year’s
West Yellowstone gathering was a true
testimony to how this program is successfully being implemented by the attendance of many, many new participants.

We do have a few fundraisers throughout the year which benefit charity and programs which provide essential services to community’s and kids. Over the past two years we’ve
donated well over $3,000 to these programs and truly look forward to more successful ventures in promoting the snowmobiling industry a whole with these contributions.

This past summer, WSVSA held a sled raffle program which found a super nice little 1980 Arctic Cat Trail Cat visiting each member clubs’ fall events.
Tickets were sold at the shows as well as over the wire. We rose over $1,400.

Proceeds form ticket sales were then donated in equal portions of too each WSVSA Member Clubs for distribution on local basis as they deemed.

At Spokane’s Winterkights show in November, Vintage Snowmobiles of the Inland Northwest had a great show which was the last stop on the three month tour for the Trail Cat.
As the day wound up, excitement was in the air as the big drawing approached. Right before the Winter knight’s gave away their grand prizes, the events coordinator s gave us the
stage as we rallied up a huge crowd for our drawing. In a grand moment, Emily Ruchert drew one of vintage’s nicest guys as the lucky winner! It was none other than
 James Simpson out of
Renton, Washington! James has been an avid supporter of vintage snowmobiling and will provide a warm and fuzzy home for his first cat! Congratulations Jim!

Now let’s wrap up this long winded note with this year’s 7th Annual West Yellowstone Vintage Round- up program.

We are on for Saturday March 13th at the trail head near the race track on Iris Street. We’ll be there the Friday before setting up, having fun socializing, messing around
in the parking lot, and taking in the scenery.  Show is Saturday, March 13, 9-5.

Make a note that we have changed our headquarters to the DAY’S INN!

This is our attempt to get better floor display at the hotel as well as be a little closer to the show site and World Expo. Reservations are suggested at 800-548-9551.   This year’s
event will again benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of West Yellowstone with a raffle of a super sweet 73 Polaris Colt and other great items which you can’t live without!
Sunday we’ll be wrapping up with our usual “informal” breakfast meeting and taking in the finals of the incredible Sno Cross Racing.

Make your plans now to attend the Best in the West Vintage Event which always has special activities for everyone. For more information or any questions you may have,
please feel free to cal Jim at 541-788-5444 or Roger at 509-928-4255.

For last minute news and updates we’ll have the West Yellowstone information front page on our web site at www.wsvsa.com .

In closing, all of us at WSVSA would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to you for your support. We are working hard to distribute the news of vintage and antique
snowmobile enthusiasts in the west and for that matter across the nation.  We invite you to contact us if you have an event, special story, or anything else which you would like
to see distributed to our members. WSVSA is a non- profit group providing a free service to all it’s membership clubs. And now that we have settled into our operational groove,
WSVSA will distribute summer and winter letters informing our members of news and items of interest on a regular basis.

Again, please feel free to submit any items you would like to see included in our mailings and feel free to contact us if you have any questions what so ever. Each participating
