Just wanted to quickly say thank you to you all
for another great vintage weekend in West Yellowstone!
Quick update on a few of the exciting events which transpired over a great
weekend set in one of snowmobiling most historical settings.
1) The lucky '72 Ski Doo TNT sled raffle winner was Jerry Swanson out of Hamilton, Montana.
Jerry graciously donated the sled back to WSVSA and after a
few minutes, we decided to give the sled to some new members who
were in attendance looking for a sled to get them back into vintage. Upon
meeting quickly over breakfast on Sunday morning,
we summoned Clayton Bush from Stamford, Montana. He was very excited to hear
our plans to give he and his family the 72 TNT.
Clay and his wife are very good friends with The Jerry Eve Family. They also
are very active in car shows and collecting.
They have a very impressive stable of Ford T-Birds which they campaign
diligently all over the Western United States and Canada.
Clay also raced sleds throughout the Pacific Northwest and has a very
passionate attitude towards our hobby.
It was a true delight as Jim and I loaded the sled into their trailer Sunday
morning. Clay also donated a very nice contribution
back to WSVSA for the gesture. Thanks Clay, and welcome aboard!
2) The 10 x 10 EZ-Up was won by Kenny Jacobson from
Missoula.
Kenny has a bunch of Polaris Starfire's which are the true definition of "top
shelf".
3) The framed Ski Doo Poster was won by Craig and Debbie
Ginder (and family) hailing out of Kimberly, Idaho.
The Ginder's have a great collection of sleds featuring their ever popular '68
Larson, plus many more!
The 6th annual West Yellowstone roundup had close to 70
sleds on display with a significant amount of new members
participating for the first time. Participants came from 7 western states plus
a very fun gang of scorpion guys making
the long pull from Minnesota. Now those Scorpion guys know how to have fun!
Highlights of the weekend were the Vintage Parade in front
of a packed grandstand on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon.
We stopped and threw a few of '09 West Yellowstone Vintage Tee Shirts into the
crowd which was standing as we
entertained them with an awesome live demonstration the oldies! We were also
very fortunate to have the local
Big Brothers and Big Sisters kids in the booth working the poker run, selling
raffle tickets, shirts, and so on. It was a true
pleasure to share the day with our new "buddies". The public interaction with
voting was record setting indicating our
Vintage Roundup has become a viable contributing entity to the World
Snowmobile Expo.

Congratulations go out to all the class winners as well as participants who always make this the "Best in The West" Vintage show.
Thank you all again for you help, participation,
and contributions which allowed us to produce to another very successful
event.
I would also like to personally thank my many friends who presented
my daughters and I with the very nice plaque on Saturday night.
It was very unnecessary, but truly is appreciated by all three of us! Aloha!

Planning is already underway for the 7th Annual West
Yellowstone Vintage Roundup. Watch your mailboxes for our
spring WSVSA letter and check back in here for up to the minute news on West
and other western vintage snowmobile news.
Until then, take care and we'll see ya soon where ever our vintage trails may cross!

WEST YELLOWSTONE VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE ROUND-UP 2008
I would like to thank everyone involved with our Vintage Snowmobile Organization for their support.
Our 5th Annual West Yellowstone Roundup was
without question, a new beginning for Vintage Snowmobiling
in the West. Special thanks to Jim, Roger, and Ray for putting together the
benefit poker run which raised
about $150 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and also the Gallery of Champions
which was an incredible
example of how far this production has come in just a short time.
Also special thanks to those who drove
countless miles to attend the event. We had new participants from
Missoula, Bozeman, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and even South Dakota in the
roster. 10 new faces in a
total of 30 plus participants. Thank you all!
As always, Audrey Lee and my daughter Ashley
(who covered for Norma Rhea) took care of the behind the
scenes paper work and need to be applauded for their efforts as well.70 sleds,
great folks, a little riding',
and lots of laughs! What a great day!
On Sunday Morning we sat down and "off the
cuff" tabulated revenue. We anticipate presenting Big Brothers
and Big Sisters with $500, paying for the event, and keeping a small amount of
remaining money to purchase
2009 Yellowstone Show promotional materials. Stuff like banners, magazine and
newspaper ads, plus more.
Congratulations to all the weekend's winners
including Steve and Darrell for their incredible sleds. Also Arthur
for running off with the Framed Print and EZ Up and all the other winners at
the Saturday raffle!
I truly hope you all had as great a weekend as we did!
